Job summary

Bachert Meats in Ontario is seeking an experienced butcher to join our team in a busy meat processing facility. You will work in a traditional butcher shop environment, handling cuts, trimming, packaging and displays while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include supervising junior staff, training crew, and ensuring efficient production. Candidates should have 3–5 years of relevant experience and be able to work under pressure in a cold, odour-filled environment.

Qualifications

• Secondary high school certificate or equivalent experience.
• 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in meat processing or related field.

Responsibilities

• Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting.
• Cut carcasses, sides and quarters.
• Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat.
• Wrap and package prepared meats.
• Remove bones from meat.
• Supervise other butchers, meat cutters and fishmongers.
• Train meat cutters.
• Prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products.
• Shape, lace and tie roasts, other meats, poultry and seafood.
