Harris is seeking a Business Development Manager to work closely with organizational leaders and the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team to continue Harris’s success in acquiring software businesses. This role involves engaging with and qualifying acquisition opportunities.

As a Business Development Representative, you will report to the Business Development Director and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada, working remotely or from any of our 50+ Harris offices (when it is safe to return).

What your impact will be :
  1. Qualification - Use tools (LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, etc.) to thoroughly screen potential targets and generate customized outreach.
  2. Hunting - Engage with owners of new software companies via telephone for acquisitions, with purpose and persistence, aiming to connect with 75% of assigned prospects.
  3. Nurturing - Build lasting impressions with owners, leveraging business acumen for ongoing engagement over years.
  4. Discipline - Track 100+ personalized outreach activities weekly and maintain records in Salesforce.
  5. Continuous Learning - Proactively develop knowledge of vertical market software and M&A.
  6. Teamwork - Collaborate effectively, understanding that team success impacts individual efforts.
What we are looking for :
  1. Proven success as a leader and team manager, with a 'Player Coach' approach.
  2. Ability to lead daily team operations and collaborate with stakeholders internally and externally.
  3. 10+ years of related experience in sales, business development, consulting, banking, investing, M&A sourcing, technology/software, investor relations, or entrepreneurship.
  4. Open to candidates from non-traditional backgrounds with demonstrated leadership and success.
  5. Passion for business development and relationship management.
  6. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  7. Self-motivated with excellent prioritization and multitasking skills, eager for new challenges.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; MBA is a plus.
