Job summary

Sun West School Division is seeking a reliable School Bus Driver to operate Eston Route 2, Northwest of Eston to Eston Composite School. This permanent position starts as soon as possible.

The ideal candidate will safely drive, pick up and drop off students, perform vehicle inspections, and maintain a respectful, safe environment for all passengers with clear communication with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with S endorsement (or willing to obtain).
• Acceptable 10 year driving abstract.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous driving or school transportation experience is asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
• Basic computer and technology skills including email and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus along designated routes and schedules.
• Pick up and drop off students at assigned stops.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and school transportation regulations.
• Maintain order and discipline on the bus.
• Assist students with boarding and exiting when required.
• Report any delays, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly.
• Keep accurate records of routes, incidents, and inspections.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff.

Sun West School Division is seeking reliable, safety-oriented applicants for a School Bus Driverposition for Eston Route 2 (Northwest of Eston to Eston Composite School).

This is a permanent position, starting as soon as possible.

The ideal candidate is responsible, patient, and committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all passengers.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus along designated routes and schedules


• Pick up and drop off students at assigned stops


• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections


• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and school transportation regulations


• Maintain order and discipline on the bus


• Assist students with boarding and exiting when required

Compensation & Benefits

Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the collective agreement of CUPE Local 4802.

• Base Rate: $62.94
