Job summary

Best Western Pacific Inn in Vernon, BC is seeking a maintenance worker to perform routine upkeep and minor repairs of building systems. The role involves heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical tasks, plus garden care and basic preventative maintenance.

Applicants should have 1 year to less than 2 years of maintenance experience and a secondary school graduation certificate. This is an on-site, permanent position with a wage of 29.02 CAD per hour for 35–40 hours per week.

• Secondary education required; hotel/maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems; contact tradespersons for major repairs.
• Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
• Perform minor repairs on appliances and perform safety and security checks.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies; clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
• Perform other routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair.
• Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens.
• Work with minimal supervision.
