Job summary

Kaizen Lab Inc. in Edmonton is seeking a Building Maintenance Worker to keep our facilities safe, clean, and running smoothly. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, monitor safety, and support event setups.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in building maintenance, a high school diploma, and skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and use of basic tools. Valid Alberta driver's license is required, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and you must pass a criminal

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of building maintenance experience; asset for recreational or commercial facilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical repairs and general maintenance.
  • Knowledge of pool operations, ice arenas, or recreational building systems is an asset.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of hand tools and power tools.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Availability for day and evening shifts, including weekends.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the facility and grounds.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility during operating hours.
  • Monitor the facility for safety and security concerns and respond appropriately.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and building equipment.
  • Perform routine grounds maintenance, including lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, ice control, and exterior property upkeep.
  • Assist with setting up and tearing down rooms and equipment for special events.
  • Assist with snow removal and other seasonal grounds maintenance as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, maintenance logs, and related documentation.
  • Complete hazard assessments and comply with all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

  • Abilityto safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Strongproblem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Availabilityfor:
    • Dayshift 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Eveningshift 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., including weekends.
  • Successfulcompletion of a criminal record check will be required.
