Job summary

Royal Glenora Club is seeking a hands-on Building Maintenance Worker to help keep our facilities safe, clean, and operational at their best. You’ll perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot repairs, and assist with grounds upkeep and events.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of building maintenance experience, a High school diploma, and knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of building maintenance experience; experience maintaining recreational or commercial facilities is asset.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with basic repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Experience or knowledge of pool operations, ice arena facilities, and recreational building systems is asset.
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's License.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Availability for: Dayshift 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Eveningshift 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., including weekends.
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the facility and grounds.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility during operating hours.
  • Monitor the facility for safety and security concerns and respond appropriately.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and building equipment.
  • Perform routine grounds maintenance, including lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, ice control, and exterior property upkeep.
  • Assist with setting up and tearing down rooms and equipment for special events.
  • Assist with snow removal and other seasonal grounds maintenance as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, maintenance logs, and related documentation.
  • Complete hazard assessments and comply with all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
