Job summary

Alberta Health Services invites applications for a Maintenance Worker II in Innisfail Health Centre. The casual/relief role supports the facility with routine preventative maintenance and on-demand repairs of building systems, drywall, floors and painting.

Under general supervision, duties include minor plumbing, equipment repairs, checks on pressure and temperature, and disassembly for cleaning. A valid driver’s license is required; shifts include days and on call.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid driver's licence.
• Power Engineer 5th Class Certificate required where boiler support is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative and demand maintenance on building exterior and interior.
• Carry out semi-skilled maintenance on facility architectural, structural and mechanical systems/components.
• Repair drywall, floors and painting; minor plumbing repair.
• Check equipment for pressure and temperature; disassembly of equipment for cleaning.

Job description

As a Maintenance Worker II, you may perform routine preventative and demand maintenance activities within the exterior and interior of the building. Under general supervision, you may perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on facility architectural, structural and mechanical systems/components to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may perform a wide range of general maintenance duties including maintenance and repair of drywall, floors and painting. Additional duties may include minor plumbing repair; minor repairs on equipment; checks on equipment for pressure and temperature; and disassembly of equipment for cleaning.
