An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Building Operator to ensure optimal performance of various building systems. Compensation
ISS offers full-time employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, as well as a comprehensive leave program based on employment status. The hourly pay range for this position is C$40 per hour - C$47 per hour.
Key Purpose
As Building Operator, you will operate, maintain, and perform repairs on all building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting equipment and controls, HVAC, Chilled Water Systems, Air Handlers, Boilers, Heat Exchangers, AHUs, VAV Systems, FCUs, refrigeration equipment, and other mechanical, electrical, and building systems to ensure optimal conditions.
The Building Operator will also provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) for other facilities as assigned or directed.
Working Hours
The working hours for this position are 6:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence
Support the team, report to the Facility Manager, and communicate effectively across the business unit and company, participating in project groups and meetings as required.
Ideal Candidate Experience
Requires 5-10 years of related technical experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical program graduation from a community or regional college is preferred. The candidate should have experience in O&M or building engineering roles, knowledge of Work Order Control procedures, experience with subcontractor and vendor management, capacity planning, and proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, and MS Office. Strong analytical, communication, and regulatory interpretation skills are also necessary.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, respond professionally to customers, adhere to policies, maintain a professional appearance, participate in training, work according to schedules, complete work orders, manage inventory, troubleshoot HVAC controls, respond to emergencies, and perform general maintenance tasks. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with vendors, enforcing safety guidelines, and performing other tasks as needed.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry at least 50 pounds, stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch daily. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Must work under pressure during peak periods and participate in on-call rotations.
