Qualifications

  • 0-4 years of civil engineering experience required.

Your role at GEI.

GEI is seeking a junior professional to contribute to the growth of its land development and water resources team. The role involves working collaboratively with design, management, and technical leaders on projects related to drainage, stormwater management, and land development. The position supports GEI’s civil engineering practice in Kitchener, Ontario.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties :

  1. Develop site grading, servicing, and stormwater management designs.
  2. Assist with AutoCAD drafting in Civil 3D.
  3. Complete stormwater modeling, including Low Impact Development systems.
  4. Prepare design calculations for sanitary and storm sewers.
  5. Develop and evaluate design alternatives.
  6. Respond to review agency comments.
  7. Attend meetings with clients and review agencies.
  8. Evaluate data and prepare technical reports, letters, and memoranda.
  9. Assist with proposal preparation.
  10. Prepare construction specifications and tender documents.
  11. Coordinate with project managers, team staff, and clients.
  12. Provide construction inspection as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0-4 years of civil engineering experience and familiarity with engineering design processes.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to obtain P.Eng. in Ontario.
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with stormwater modeling software (asset): PCSWMM, MIDUSS, OTTHYMO.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D (asset).
  • Willingness to work from Kitchener office and travel as required.
  • Ability to perform field tasks.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license.
