We are seeking a motivated individual to join our consulting engineers and technical specialists at InnTech. This is a full-time salaried position suitable for individuals with or without experience, including recent graduates. The role involves supporting our HVAC profit center teams and their customers with applications engineering.

Your goal is to secure mid-to-large scale projects by providing exceptional customer service, creating innovative solutions, and preparing proposals. You will have the autonomy to work on projects of interest and contribute new ideas and technologies to grow the InnTech business line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of innovative HVAC products, systems, and their applications.
  • Support customer inquiries with technical guidance on HVAC products and installations.
  • Create project proposals detailing solutions, pricing, and benefits.
  • Perform heat transfer and ventilation calculations for system sizing.
  • Design and select alternative HVAC systems for improved performance and energy savings.
  • Interpret engineer drawings, complete take-offs, and prepare bid proposals.
  • Utilize manufacturer design software for system design and selection.
  • Conduct heat pump energy modeling using tools provided by Natural Resources Canada.
  • Troubleshoot issues and develop solutions for customers.
  • Build relationships with vendors, internal teams, and industry partners.
  • Communicate energy efficiency programs to stakeholders.
  • Manage projects and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Develop financial solutions to secure large bids.
  • Engage in industry events and create new sales leads.
  • Research and recommend new products, services, and market trends.
  • Follow safety regulations at all locations.
  • Work remotely or from office, with occasional travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in engineering, architecture, building science, or HVAC trades.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments with attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean record.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in mechanical engineering or building science.
  • Experience with HVAC systems like heat pumps, ERVs/HRVs, hydronics, VRF, refrigeration.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Sales or business development experience.
  • Certifications such as BCIN, HRAI, LEED, CEA, CRE, CEM, CET, or CEMVP are assets.
  • Experience with energy modeling or design software like eQuest, HOT2000, etc.
