We are seeking an Infrastructure Support Engineer to independently troubleshoot enterprise network issues to ensure continuity of service for customers for all Military Treatment Facilities(MTF) in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Enterprise worldwide.

**THIS IS A 100% REMOTE POSITION**

You Will:

  • Evaluate circumstances, and identify root causes, and develop a plan for resolution.
  • Provide tier III help desk support for all tenants in the DHA network.
  • Triage issues and resolve and/or assign to the appropriate network teams for remediation.
  • Support all MTFs in the DHA enterprise and be responsible for troubleshooting issues with network devices.
  • Engage with the customer on a daily basis.
  • Engage with internal and external customers to provide solutions to network issues.
  • Troubleshoot issues with a variety of different network devices and protocols.
  • Work in a team setting and make recommendations related to troubleshooting, device configuration, and documentation.
  • Document projects, support actions, and other administrative artifacts to serve as reference material for related support activities and management staff.
  • Ensure incidents and service requests adhere to established service level agreements.
  • Understand complex networks and utilize the latest practices and principles to resolve issues.

You Have:

  • A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Active Secret level Security Clearance.
  • 6+ years’ relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure.
  • A strong knowledge of Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Virtual Private Network devices.
  • A good understanding of TCP/IP regarding routing and subnetting.
  • Experience with the following Network protocols and services:
    • Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP)
    • Access Control Lists
    • Layer 2 Switching
    • Spanning Tree
    • Packet Analysis
  • Experience with the following a plus:
    • Cisco Switch 4500X
    • Cisco Switch 9000 Series
    • Palo Alto Firewall PA-5050
  • Other requirements:
    • A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority.
    • Must be willing to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment.

Certifications:

  • Security Certification (CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SCCP)

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred.
