Job summary

Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative in Victoria, BC, is seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our team. You will summarize client books, manage payroll, payables, receivables, expenses and tax remittances, and support improved record-keeping for clients.

This full-time, permanent role offers a Monday to Friday schedule with flexible start/end times and one work-from-home day per week, plus competitive benefits and RRSP matching.

Qualifications

• Self-starter with initiative and accountability.

• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Experience using bookkeeping software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Summarize the client’s books and records.
• Manage payroll, payables, receivables, expenses and tax remittances.
• Assist clients with improved record-keeping practices.
• Provide vacation relief for other bookkeeping staff.
• Handle additional bookkeeping and administrative duties as required.

Your role:

• Summarizing the client's books and records
• Management of client's payroll, payables, receivables, expenses and tax remittances
• Assisting clients with the betterment of record-keeping
• Vacation relief for other bookkeeping staff
• All other bookkeeping and administrative duties as required

What you'll bring to the table:

• Self-starter, takes initiative
• Can work independently with little supervision; Ability to jump into bookkeeping files with minimal support
• Great organization and communication skills
• Proficiency and/or experience with:Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word; Bookkeeping applications including Sage, QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online; and Adobe Acrobat Professional
• Experience working in a team-based environment
