A leading company in the automotive sector is seeking a Bookkeeper/Financial Controller to manage financial transactions, payroll, and compliance with tax laws. Northern Ford is looking for a Bookkeeper/Financial Controller to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Recording Financial Transactions:
Maintain accurate records of all business transactions, such as sales, purchases, payments, and receipts.
Enter data into accounting software or ledgers.
Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Monitor and manage bills, invoices, and payments to ensure they are processed on time.
Track outstanding receivables and ensure clients/customers pay on time.
Reconciling Accounts:
Reconcile bank statements with internal records to ensure consistency.
Ensure all financial data aligns and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
Payroll Management:
Process payroll for employees, including calculating wages, taxes, and other deductions.
Ensure timely payment of wages and compliance with tax laws.
Managing Financial Records:
Ensure all financial records are properly stored, organized, and up to date.
Assist with preparing and maintaining general ledgers.
Financial Reporting:
Generate basic financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
Help prepare reports for accountants or financial managers.
Tax Preparation Support:
Help prepare documents for tax filings, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws.
Track sales tax, payroll tax, and other applicable taxes.
Ensuring Compliance:
Adhere to legal and regulatory financial reporting standards.
Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive financial information.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Accounting Knowledge: A good understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
Attention to Detail: Bookkeepers must be highly accurate and organized to avoid errors in financial data.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software. PBS DMS experience an asset.
Organizational Skills: The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Time Management: Prioritizing tasks to ensure that financial records are up to date and reconciled in a timely manner.
Communication Skills: Bookkeepers often need to communicate with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders about financial matters.
