Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Financial Accountant role will support the finance team by performing accounts receivable activities, contributing to daily operations and month-end close, conducting financial analysis, and assisting with audit preparation. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in accounting processes, contribute to process improvements, and develop key skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This position has room for growth as tasks and responsibilities evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle accounts receivable activities including the timely processing of sales orders, customer payments, credit memos, and adjustments
- Monitor outstanding accounts, follow up on overdue payments, and prepare aging reports with regular updates on receivables status
- Prepare month end journal entries including sales cut-off adjustments, allowances, and rebates
- Provide sales reporting data to internal and external collaborators in a timely manner
- Update and maintain financial reports to support analysis of results and identify trends
- Assist in month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and providing documentation to auditors
- Analyze historical collection patterns and outstanding receivables to forecast expected cash inflows
- Support the accounts payable function as needed, including invoice processing and reviewing expense reports
- Ensure compliance with audit and internal control requirements, including maintaining accurate and organized financial records
- Collaborate with team members to stay up to date with applicable accounting standards and policies
- Take on ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and able to adapt to various systems/softwares (NetSuite, Concur, Floqast)
- A degree in business administration, accounting, or finance or equivalent experience
- Completed or pursuing CPA designation
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting-related role
- Key Competencies: attention to detail, adaptability, openness to learning and collaboration
