Job summary

The Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group in Canada is seeking a Leader, Bodily Injury to drive the BI claims team, ensure performance, compliance, and an exceptional member experience. You will mentor staff, apply best practices, monitor complex claims, and provide strategy and direction to build a high-performing team aligned to business priorities.

The role requires 5–7 years in P&C insurance with BI experience and strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in P&C insurance with direct BI claims handling and team leadership.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of staff.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Completion or pursuit of CIP designation is an asset.
• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Lead BI claims team to drive performance, efficiency, and member experience.
• Identify and manage highly complex or potential fraudulent claims.
• Ensure compliance, internal controls and operational risk management.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and career development to team members.
• Set strategy and direction for the Bodily Injury team to align with business priorities.
• Maintain high service standards for policyholders and brokers.
