Job summary

BW Gold, a subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc., seeks a Blaster 2 for the Blackwater Mine site in British Columbia. You will prepare, load, and detonate production and development blasts, coordinating with mine operations to ensure safety and optimal fragmentation.

This permanent, full-time role features a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation. Requirements: provincial Blaster Certification, explosives handling certifications, and at least 2 years blasting in open pit mining.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial Blaster Certification and explosives handling certifications.
• Minimum 2 years blasting experience in open pit mining.
• Knowledge of blast design principles and initiation systems.
• Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safely prepare, load, and initiate production and development blasts per designs.
• Handle, transport, store, and account for explosives per policy and law.
• Conduct pre-blast inspections to secure areas and mitigate hazards.
• Maintain blast exclusion zones and coordinate blast schedules with operations.
• Perform initiation system tie-ins and post-blast assessments for misfires.
• Document explosives usage, blast reports, inventory and regulatory records.
• Inspect blasting equipment and collaborate with engineers to optimize fragmentation.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Possibly assume lead blaster duties as required.
