Artemis Gold Inc invites applications for a Blaster 1 at the Blackwater Mine in British Columbia. This permanent role supports production blasting, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal fragmentation for downstream processing.
You will work with mine operations and technical services, maintaining records, and adhering to PPE protocols. A provincial Blaster Certification and five years’ blasting experience are required, with strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Reporting to the Development Supervisor – Mining, the Blaster 1 is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of blasting activities to support mining operations. Working closely with mine operations, and technical services teams, the Blaster 1 prepares, loads, and detonates production and development blasts while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company procedures. This role is critical to maintaining productivity, minimizing dilution, and optimizing fragmentation for downstream mining and processing activities.
Location: Blackwater Mine site
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Employment Type: Permanent
Valid provincial Blaster Certification and all required explosives handling certification
Minimum 5 years of blasting experience in an open pit mining environment; gold mining experience is considered an asset
Thorough knowledge of explosives, initiation systems, blast design principles, and blasting best practices
Strong understanding of applicable mining regulations, explosives legislation, and safety standards
Experience identifying and managing misfires and other blasting-related hazards
Ability to read and interpret blast plans, technical drawings, and mine layouts
Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments
Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence
Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain
Valid driver's licence and ability to operate light vehicles on a mine site
Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and responsibilities
High school diploma or equivalent
