Job summary

Britannia Woods Community Services in Ottawa is seeking a bilingual Youth Employment Facilitator to help young people build sustainable career paths. The role blends employment coaching with employer engagement and requires guiding youth from intake to placement, including resume support and interview preparation.

The successful candidate will foster strong relationships with employers and community partners, coordinate culturally responsive workshops, and ensure coordinated supports across BWCS

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in employment counselling or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of experience in employment services or youth programming.
• Experience building relationships with employers and community partners.
• Experience providing individualized employment coaching.
• Understanding barriers faced by equity-deserving youth.
• Strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• French language ability is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Support youth with intake through employment, providing individualized planning and retention support.
• Assist with resumes, applications, interviews, networking, and job-search strategies.
• Identify barriers and develop practical strategies with youth to address them.
• Connect participants to wraparound supports including mental health, housing, and education.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers to create opportunities.
• Identify job opportunities and match participants to roles based on skills and goals.
• Support recruitment processes and onboarding, and track outcomes.
• Coordinate workshops, visits, mentorship, and career exposure activities.
• Maintain accurate program records and contribute to program evaluation.
