Job summary

Commissionaires Ottawa is seeking an HR Advisor to partner with managers and employees on HR policies, collective agreements, and employment laws. You will support performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations in a bilingual, respectful environment.

The role requires discreet handling of sensitive cases, collaboration with union representatives, and ensuring fair, compliant decisions while helping leaders and staff navigate challenging conversations to build stronger

Qualifications

• Bilingual French/English preferred.
• 3+ years progressive HR experience focused on employee and labour relations.
• Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, WSIB.

Responsibilities

• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation.
• Support performance management and disciplinary actions to ensure fair decisions.
• Lead and support workplace investigations (harassment, sexual harassment, violence, or other sensitive cases).
• Assist in the preparation of grievances, arbitration files, and bargaining documentation.
• Collaborate with union representatives to resolve issues and maintain constructive relationships.
• Coordinate medical accommodations, return-to-work, and attendance management processes.
• Respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies and agencies as needed.
• Maintain case documentation and support process improvements within HR.
