Qualifications

• 0-2 years accounting experience in a large manufacturing environment, or in a major CPA firm.
• Fluent in French and English (verbal and written).
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.

We are currently seeking a qualified Bilingual Junior Accountant to join our team.

Location: Montreal, Quebec

Schedule: Hybrid

Bilingual: French & English

Description: In this role, you will assist more senior accountants with the day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries and reconciliations. You will also assist in the maintenance of sub ledgers, as well as be involved in the population of financial reports. You will also participate in the preparation of quarterly and year end audit schedules.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
• Perform re-class between prepaid expenses and expenses
• Perform reconciliation of various accounts
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
• Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc as assigned
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Assist with other accounting projects
  
  

Qualification

• Proven experience as a junior accountant
• 0-2 years accounting experience in a large manufacturing environment, or in a major CPA firm
• Excellent organizing abilities
• Great attention to detail
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software
• Bachelor’s in accounting, finance or relevant field
• Fluent in French and English (verbal and written).
