Overview

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world.

The Contingent Labour Office’s (CLO) mandate is to partner with the business to enable an expedited and customer-centric positive approach to engaging external resources. This involves balancing the commercial needs of the business with mitigating risk to the firm. This mandate is achieved by:

  1. Utilizing internal contingent workforce expert practitioners, who continuously expand their skills and remain up-to-date on market intelligence.
  2. Acting as trusted advisors, to educate, challenge the status quo, and advise the business on creative approaches to find the right solutions.
  3. Delivering a customer-centric approach to the business and external resources by minimizing administration efforts, anticipating their needs, projecting a ‘how can I help you’ attitude, and actively collaborating with Hiring Managers to deepen relationships.
Location

Anywhere in Canada will be considered; this is a virtual work opportunity (1-2 days in office per month may be required for meetings).

What You Will Do

Reporting to the Leader of the Contract Labour Office (CLO), the Contract Manager will execute processes and solve challenges related to external resources during various stages for all functions and locations across Canada. The CLO processes over 1000 external resources per year, from individual contractors to multi-million dollar organizations. Responsibilities include:

  • Applying technical expertise to advise and support Hiring Managers in engaging external resources.
  • Working independently on complex cases and escalations for effective resolution.
  • Handling complex contract revisions, risk assessments, change management, and managing difficult relationships.
  • Partnering with internal experts (Legal, Risk Management, Procurement, etc.) on matters such as classification, compliance, immigration, taxation, and security.
  • Managing high-risk cases related to legislative and regulatory compliance, policies, and guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Case management, including promoting the CLO’s brand, managing cases in the vendor management system, and training stakeholders.
  • Handling complex case negotiations, drafting clauses, and managing unique case complexities.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives and participating in projects.
  • Responding to inquiries, providing reports, managing escalations, and leading educational sessions.
  • Mentoring team members and contributing to firm objectives.
Qualifications
  • College or University degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in contract labor or contingent workforce management.
  • Experience drafting third-party agreements and liaising with multiple parties.
  • Knowledge of immigration matters related to resourcing.
  • Bilingual in English and French, with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Legal training or experience, and familiarity with ServiceNow and Flextrack, are assets.
