Job summary

Randstad Canada is assisting a publicly-traded client in the Ottawa-Gatineau area to hire a bilingual assistant controller. You will be involved in the monthly close, financial statement preparation, and forecasting with hands-on participation across accounting cycles.

The role requires strong Excel skills and fluent French and English communication, with experience in manufacturing and a fast-paced environment. This is an on-site role servicing the greater Ottawa area.

Qualifications

• Min. 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Fluent in French and English for client/colleague interactions in Ontario and Quebec.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an asset.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
• CPA or CPA Candidate an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly financial close and prepare financial statements.
• Reconcile general ledger and analyze monthly projections.
• Explain budget variances and participate in annual budget planning.
• Oversee capital purchase process and implement internal controls.
• Maintain regular financial reporting processes to support operations.
• Coordinate and perform inventory counts.
