Job summary

Ideal Can is seeking an Accounting Assistant Controller to support our finance team in Saint-Apollinaire, QC. This full-time permanent role involves managing the accounting cycle, month-end closings, and financial statement preparation.

The successful candidate holds a DEC in Accounting and Management, has at least 5 years of relevant experience, is fluent in French with intermediate English, and excels at accuracy, organization, and prioritization.

Qualifications

• DEC in Accounting and Management required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Perform full accounting cycle, including monthly and annual closings.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze variances.
• Prepare GST/QST, CNESST, CNT reports and tax slips.
• Prepare journal entries (group insurance, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses).
• Manage transactional accounting team.
• Monitor sub-ledgers (inventory, AR, AP).
• Ensure month-end follow-up and invoice reconciliation.
• Perform other duties as required.
