Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a friendly Barista to prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and related snacks to customers in our busy cafe. You will welcome customers, explain menu items, handle orders, and ensure accurate preparation while maintaining a clean, stocked coffee bar.

Prior barista experience is a plus; strong teamwork, reliable recipe following, and customer service mindset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Previous Barista experience is an asset.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers by determining coffee interests and needs.
• Educate customers by presenting the coffee menu and answering questions.
• Prepare espresso and other coffee drinks using prescribed recipes.
• Explain differences in beans and equipment to help purchases.
• Maintain inventory and keep supplies stocked at the coffee bar.
• Keep equipment operating and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Improve quality by evaluating processes and updating the store appearance.
