Smith's Gastropub in Vancouver is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to oversee daily bar operations under the General Manager. You will lead staff, manage inventory, and ensure superior guest service while hitting sales targets.

Responsibilities include scheduling, beverage preparation, cash handling, vendor relations, and staff training. A college diploma in hospitality and Serving It Right are preferred; extensive POS knowledge and familiarity with health and liquor regulations are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a college diploma in hospitality, food and beverage service management or related discipline is a plus.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience + 5 years bartending experience.
• Serving It Right certification.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale software.
• Extensive knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and health code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly staff schedules for bartender, bar back and server staff to cover shifts and adjust staffing as needed.
• Monitor beverage inventory and requisition purchases to maintain stock and control costs.
• Oversee bar and dining area cleanliness and safety, including health code compliance.
• Review sales and beverage costs, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure proper cash handling.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and per company guidelines.
• Oversee beverage preparation and maintain high product quality.
• Greet guests and maintain a high level of professionalism and hospitality.
• Support GM in interviewing, onboarding and training new employees.
• Negotiate supplier arrangements including pricing and delivery.

Calling all experienced Bar Managers in Vancouver! Smith's Gastropub is actively searching for an experienced Bar Manager. The Bar Manager, under the direction of the General Manager, will primarily be responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day operations of the bar. You should be customer focused and profit driven to succeed in this role. Job Duties:

• Prepare weekly schedules for bartender, bar back and server staff to adequately cover all shifts. Provide for coverage in case of employee absence and adjust staffing as necessary to meet business demands.
• Monitor inventory of beverages to ensure adequate stock is maintained and to prevent excess pours or abuse by staff. Requisition purchases as needed.
• Oversee cleanliness of bar & dining area as well as restrooms, paying special attention to possible health hazards and code violations.
• Review sales and beverage costs, and reconcile any discrepancies in accounting. Ensure proper cash management.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and according to company guidelines.
• Oversee the preparation of beverages and ensure quality of product served
• Responsible for maintaining a consistently high level of customer service
• Greet and handle all guest interaction with a high level of professionalism and hospitality.
• Resolve all customer complaints
• Strive to achieve sales targets while respecting budget during day-to-day operations.
• Along with the GM, interview, onboard and train new employees.
• Negotiate arrangements with suppliers, including pricing and delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Completion of a college diploma in hospitality, food and beverage service management or other related disciplines is a plus.
• Previous supervisory experience in the food & beverage industry. Minimum 1 year supervisory experience + 5 years bartending experience.
• Serving It Right cert.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale software.
• Extensive working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of local and state regulations related to alcohol service and health code compliance.
• Competency in resource management and inventory control.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles, personnel management and marketing.
