Canad Inns in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Banquet Supervisor to assist with daily banquet operations alongside the Banquet Manager/Event Manager, Sales Department and Executive Chef to coordinate meetings, conventions, catering, and special events.

The role requires 3–5 years in banquets or events, weekend/evening/holiday flexibility, strong leadership, cash handling trustworthiness, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of AV equipment is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in banquets, hospitality, or event operations.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Access to transportation for commuting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency and trustworthiness in handling cash transactions.
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of audio and video technology will be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all details and services for meetings, conventions, catering, and events are completed per client requests.
• Assist in training and equipping staff to perform their jobs effectively.
• Supervise day-to-day banquet staff, communicate objectives, and assist with scheduling and assignments.
• Analyze banquet event orders and coordinate with customers, managers, and employees to meet or exceed expectations.
• Assist the Banquet/Event Manager in overseeing event execution and service standards; perform other duties as required.

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency and trustworthiness in handling cash transactions.
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of audio and video technology and equipment will be an asset.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that all details and services for meetings, conventions, catering, and events are completed and executed based on client requests.
• Assisting in ensuring that all staff are properly trained and equipped to effectively carry out their jobs.
• Supervising the day-to-day activities of banquet staff, communicating objectives, and assisting with scheduling and work assignments.
• Analyzing banquet event orders and effectively communicating with customers, managers, and employees to ensure that all room setups, equipment, supplies, staffing, and menus meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Assisting the Banquet/Event Manager in overseeing event execution and service standards.Performing all other duties as required.
