Canad Inns is seeking a skilled Banquets Manager to lead and oversee all banquet operations for weddings, conferences, and corporate events in Winnipeg. You will work closely with culinary and sales teams to deliver exceptional service and guest experiences while maintaining brand standards.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, revenue management, and cost control, with responsibility for staffing, budgeting, and compliance in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all banquet operations for conferences, weddings, and corporate events.
  • Coordinate with culinary and sales teams to plan and execute events with superior service.
  • Manage guest experience, brand messaging, and quarterly guest experience goals.
  • Review monthly departmental financial statements and drive action plans.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and environmental policies are followed.
  • Manage inventory, costs, staffing levels, and recruitment.
  • Adjust staffing based on forecasts and internal talent development.

As a key member of our Banquets team, you'll work side by side with the General Manager and department leaders to bring exceptional events to life—from elegant weddings to high-profile conferences. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and oversee all banquet operations, ensuring successful execution of conferences, weddings, corporate events, and other functions.
  • Work closely with the culinary and sales teams to plan and execute banquet events while maintaining exceptional service standards.
  • Manage guest experience and brand management by reviewing and update strategies, analyze guest feedback, create and refresh quarterly guest experience goals and ensure operational standards are adhered to.
  • Financial management responsibilities to include full monthly departmental financial statement review including action planning.
  • Safety, Compliance and risk management to include foot safety and liquor compliance audits and environmental safety policies in place.
  • Manage inventory and cost controls by analyzing monthly inventory, waste patterns, inventory shrinkage, behavioral issues and equipment inventory.
  • Review management and hourly staffing levels based on forecast, departmental staffing and recruitment, and internal talent development.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Previous banquet management experience required.
  • Strong banquet operations and event service management experience is required.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong focus on revenue management and cost control.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, including culinary, service, and financial aspects.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
