Job summary

Nor’Wester Resorts Limited in Thunder Bay, ON seeks a motivated Banquet server to join our team. The position offers permanent employment, with part-time leading to full-time progression, and shifts including Day, Evening, Night, and weekends.

Applicants must have Smart Serve and Food Safety certificates and be able to work in a fast-paced resort setting. English fluency is required, and the candidate should demonstrate strong customer service, teamwork, and the ability to handle physical duties

Responsibilities

• Describe menu items and daily specials to customers.
• Respond to customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner.
• Enforce provincial liquor laws and regulations.
• Advise on menu selections and daily specials where appropriate.
• Balance cash and keep sales records.
• Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs as part of service.
• Serve food and beverages to guests.
• Replenish condiments and supplies at tables and serving areas.
• Load buspans and trays; carry and replace linen as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

• The candidate must be of legal drinking age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages.
• The candidate will be expected to respond to customer complaints or concerns.
• The candidate will be expected to describe menu items, including daily specials, to customers.
• The candidate will be responsible for enforcing provincial/territorial liquor laws and regulations.
• The candidate will be expected to advise on menu selections.
• The candidate must balance cash and keep sales records.
• The candidate must clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
• The candidate must be able to serve food and beverages.
• The candidate must provide excellent customer service.
• The candidate must replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
• The candidate must load buspans and trays.
• The candidate will be in charge of carrying and replacing linen.

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
• The candidate must have a Smart Serve and a Food Safety Certificate.
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
