Job summary

Roadpost, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to own a defined service within the Commercial System Project Team. You will design, build, test, and maintain backend software powering catalog, CRM, billing, provisioning, and inventory management.

You will collaborate with vendors and partners to deliver reliable solutions, implement runbooks, and focus on reliability, security, and maintainability. The role emphasizes AI-assisted engineering and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience developing backend software and integrations across business systems.
• Experience using AI as part of the software development process, with an emphasis on validating outputs and demonstrating improvements in productivity or software quality.
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust, maintainable software.

Responsibilities

• Own Your Service Area. Take end-to-end responsibility for complex feature delivery, reliability, runbooks, service-level objectives, cost awareness, and incident response.
• Build Backend Solutions. Develop backend services, integrations, workflows, and business logic using clean, maintainable code.
• Design Within the Architecture. Develop solutions that respect system responsibilities and data ownership; document decisions.
• Drive Quality & Reliability. Write and maintain automated tests, review code, deploy and support in production.
• Support Migration & Partners. Build tooling for migrations; work with vendors on designs and dependencies.
• Advance AI-Assisted Engineering. Run a personal agent fleet; apply AI to coding and testing; review generated code.
• Mentor & Lead Technically. Support junior engineers, lead design discussions, and contribute to initiatives.
