Job summary

Tomlinson Group of Companies seeks an experienced AZ Triaxle Driver to operate straight trucks in the greater Ottawa area. The role includes pre-trip inspections, cargo securing, logging, and safe handling of loads.

AZ Triaxle Driver

R.W. Tomlinson is currently seeking an experienced licensed AZ Triaxle Driver to work in Ottawa.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and drive primarily straight trucks to transport goods and materials within the greater Ottawa area.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, and brakes
• Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting goods
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks
• Perform mandated daily safety and maintenance checks on truck
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner in order to minimize the risk of injury and property damage

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid AZ Driver's License
• 3+ years' experience
• Floating experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
• Physically able to get in and out of truck numerous times throughout the shift
• Maintaining vehicle inside and out for next day, including cleaning out box
• Operate a loader when required

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The expected wage for this position is $30.00 - $33.00 per hour. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
