Triaxle Driver (Night Shift)

R.W. Tomlinson is currently seeking experienced licensed Triaxle Drivers to work in Ottawa.

Vacancy Type: New

Schedule: Night shift

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and drive primarily straight trucks to transport goods and materials within the greater Ottawa area.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle such as condition of equipment, and loading and unloading of cargo.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, and brakes.
• Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting goods.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks.
• Perform mandated daily safety and maintenance checks on truck.
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner in order to minimize the risk of injury and property damage.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid DZ or AZ Driver’s License.
• 3+ years’ experience.
• Floating experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Physically able to get in and out of truck numerous times throughout the shift.
• Maintaining vehicle inside and out for next day, including cleaning out box.
• Operate a loader when required.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The expected wage for this position is $30.00 - $33.00 per hour, plus a night-shift premium. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
