Job summary

Route Supervisor, Comfort Station

Tomlinson Environmental Services is seeking a Route Supervisor responsible for overseeing all our drivers in our growing sewage pumping and services business (Comfort Station). This business consists of over 30+ employees ranging from drivers, cleaners, service techs, dispatchers and customer service representatives.

Location: 3150 Rideau Rd, Ottawa, ON

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overall supervision of all Comfort Station drivers
• Provide drivers with coaching, mentoring and conflict resolution
• Maintain the highest possible safety standards and customer service and employee engagement
• Work closely with the Operation Supervisor & Operations Manager to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems
• Ensure drivers are performing proper vehicle inspections and keeping their vehicles clean
• Ongoing review of routes for optimization with dispatch
• Fill in for dispatch on occasion
• Provide recommendations and implement efficiencies
• Ensure that drivers are performing their duties to Tomlinson standards
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance activities
• Build and maintain relationships with customers.
• Perform site visits and driver observations. Make appropriate recommendations for areas of improvement
• Ensure employee and customer requests are dealt with immediately
• Conduct regular safety meetings with drivers
• Conduct employee evaluations and one on one meetings
• Actively participate in COR processes and documentation
• Promote safety in all tasks

REQUIREMENTS

• 5 or more years’ experience in logistics and/or hauling operations
• Experience within the Portable Toilet Industry is considered an asset.
• Must have a valid drivers’ license with a clean abstract
• Experience with truck routing software
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment and make quick decisions
• Positive attitude towards and prior experience with process improvement
• Ability to recognize achieved goals and performance
• Ability to motivate and engage employees

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Working outdoors in the elements, including rain and snow
• Visiting job sites

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The expected salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
