Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Wasaga Beach, Ontario is seeking an AZ Driver who is physically fit and customer-focused to deliver goods to customer locations. You will operate straight trucks or trailers, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and maintain accurate delivery records, all while ensuring safety and quality service.

The role offers a day shift, home daily routes, benefits after 30 days, and a potential pay-for-performance incentive after 3 months.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract.
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs).
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency.
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions.

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships.
• Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into customer locations with ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift).
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods on urban, short inter-urban and rural routes.
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining records of routes, temperature logs and incidents.
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices.
• Following health and safety and safe work procedures.

AZ Driver Position Highlights:

• Location: Wasaga, ON
• Competitive hourly rate for first 3 months ($31.11 per hour)
• Shift: Day
• Shifts: 3 - 5 am start times, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday

DEPOT SPECIFIC JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Flexibility to cover other nearby Depots as required
• Flexibility to cover nearby depots for both deliveries, and/or night transit routes for vacation or sick coverage as needed
• Ability to work weekends is required
• Availability to work a full 10-13 hour shift is required. Understanding that hours fluctuate depending on weather business needs
