Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Canada is seeking a Class 1/AZ Driver who is physically fit, enjoys delivering excellent customer service, and values a team-driven culture.

You’ll be home every day on local routes, with a comprehensive benefits package, health and dental, RRSP matching, and a profit-sharing program after three months. Strong communication skills and a clean driving record are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1/AZ license with clean abstract.
• Physically fit; able to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Previous professional driving experience preferred.
• Able to work in varying weather and road conditions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Punctual and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service to build customer relationships.
• Manually sort and unload products, loading into customer locations.
• Operate straight trucks or trailers on short to rural routes.
• Complete pre/post-trip inspections and maintain logs.
• Verify deliveries and maintain invoices.

What We Require:

• Valid Class 1/AZ driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs)
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Must be goal oriented with a positive, “can do” attitude
• This position requires punctuality and attention to detail

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
• Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoicesFollowing health and safety and safe work procedures
