Job summary

Gordon Food Service is seeking an AZ driver to support local routes with guaranteed home daily deliveries. You will manually unload food items, use ramps and occasional stairs, and operate trucks safely across urban, inter-urban, and rural routes.

The role requires an AZ license, physical fitness, and strong English communication. Expect a 4‑day week with overtime as needed, plus a benefits program after the first 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean CDL/abstract.
• Physically able to lift/carry up to 80 lbs repeatedly.
• Fluent English with strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Unload food products and hand-wheels into customer locations (600–1000 cases/shift).
• Operate straight trucks or trailers safely on urban, inter-urban and rural routes.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain delivery records (temperature logs, count sheets).
• Verify product delivery at customer site and manage invoices.
• Follow health, safety and safe work procedures.

AZ Driver Position Highlights:

Location: Ancaster, ON

Competitive hourly rate for first 3 months ($31.11 per hour)

Shift: Day

Shifts: 3 - 5 am start times

Pay for performance incentive program after 3 months

4 day work week with overtime opportunities (if applicable)

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Required:

• Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs)
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
• Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices
• Following health and safety and safe work procedures

DEPOT SPECIFIC JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Please note that in addition to the above job description the following criteria are applicable for all of our depot specific positions:

• Flexibility to cover other nearby Depots as required.
• Flexibility to cover nearby depots for both deliveries, and/or night transit routes for vacation or sick coverage as needed
• Ability to work weekends is required
• Availability to work a full 10-13 hour shift is required.
• Understanding that hours fluctuate depending on weather business needs.
