Job summary

Gordon Food Service - Canada is hiring an AZ Driver to deliver goods with a strong focus on customer service. Wasaga, ON local routes keep you home daily and a 4-day work week with overtime opportunities supports work-life balance.

You will operate straight trucks or trailers, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and ensure accurate delivery records while upholding safety standards. Benefits begin after 30 days, including medical, dental and prescription drug cover.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract.
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs).
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency.
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions.

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships.
• Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into customer locations with ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift).
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes.
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting.
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices.

AZ Driver Position Highlights

• Location: Wasaga, ON
• Competitive hourly rate for first 3 months ($31.11 per hour)
• Shift: Day Shifts: 3 - 5 am start times, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
• Pay for performance incentive program after 3 months
• 4 day work week with overtime opportunities (if applicable)

Depot Specific Job Specifications

Please note that in addition to the above job description the following criteria are applicable for all of our depot specific positions:

• Flexibility to cover other nearby Depots as required.
• Flexibility to cover nearby depots for both deliveries, and/or night transit routes for vacation or sick coverage as needed
• Ability to work weekends is required
• Availability to work a full 10-13 hour shift is required.
• Understanding that hours fluctuate depending on weather business needs.
