Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in audiovisual integration is required.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
  • Crestron/Extron/AMX programming experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite AV installations including wiring and projector setup.
  • Troubleshoot AV issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Communicate daily with project managers about status updates.

Job description

Matrix Video Communications is a Canadian audiovisual and media production solutions company established in 1994. We have continuously grown and innovated despite technological changes. Our solutions include videoconferencing, digital signage, video walls, and meeting room configurations. Join our Markham team as an AV Technician to contribute to our story! This role involves installations, troubleshooting, and basic configuration of AV equipment, based out of our Markham branch.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Review Bill of Materials, Drawings, and Project Scope to prepare for site activities
  2. Read and interpret electronic schematics and blueprints
  3. Perform onsite AV installations including wiring, rack setup, projector and screen installation, speakers, and control systems
  4. Pull, solder, crimp, and terminate audio, video, and network cables
  5. Handle complex installations such as anchoring and cable mounts
  6. Communicate daily with Scheduler, Installation Manager, and Account Managers about project status
  7. Troubleshoot AV issues and provide solutions
  8. Work overtime as needed to meet client commitments
  9. Travel out of town and overnight travel may be required
Skills And Abilities
  • Work independently under tight deadlines
  • Interpret electronic schematics and blueprints
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems and signal flow for audio, video, and control
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Mentor junior installers
Education And/or Experience
  • 3-5 years of audiovisual integration experience
  • Post-secondary education in Electronics, Broadcasting, or related field (preferred)
  • Crestron/Extron/AMX programming experience (preferred)
  • Avixa CTS or CTS-I Certification
  • Industry training in Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC, Dante
Safety
  • Bondable with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders and lifts
  • Certifications: WHMIS, fall arrest, scissor lift, and other safety certifications
