Job summary

Plan Group, Inc. in Canada is seeking an AV Project Manager to lead complex, multi-million dollar projects, from award to closeout, on time and within budget.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, manage resources including subcontractors, oversee cost control, scheduling, and risk management, and ensure safety compliance while delivering innovative AV solutions for landmark infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of related Project Management experience within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of technology and systems integration.
  • Experience procuring and quoting AV equipment.
  • CTS certification would be considered assets.
  • Experience reading CAD drawings and interfacing with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively carry out Plan Group’s project management procedures from initial award of job to conclusion (Project schedule, change orders, as-built drawings, close out documents, etc.)
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure project implementation is executed in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining integrity of design and project schedule.
  • Perform risk management throughout the project life cycle to minimize known and unforeseen project risks.
  • Work closely with the management team to ensure feasibility and costing of projects according to budget.
  • Provide status updates of work in progress and support with project forecasting, cost control and Plan Group’s TIME efficiency program.
  • Manage relationships with all project partners and the client to bring forward innovative solutions that achieve compliance within the project budget.
  • Manage project delivery resources including employees and subcontractors.
  • Frequently communicate the technical aspects and regular site activities of the project with relevant stakeholders to effectively update and act on pertinent information.
  • Interface with consulting engineers to review and provide recommendations regarding implementation of the design and reports
  • Adhere to and carry out all safety requirements by client, as well as follow all Plan Group’s safety guidelines.
  • Manage AV ticketing inbox – Services work orders, project tracking, scheduling.
  • Track project performance and report status and elevate as required.

As the AV Project Manager you will be asked to do the following:

  • Effectively carry out Plan Group’s project management procedures from initial award of job to conclusion (Project schedule, change orders, as-built drawings, close out documents, etc.)

  • Work closely with the management team to ensure feasibility and costing of projects according to budget.
  • Provide status updates of work in progress and support with project forecasting, cost control and Plan Group’s T.I.M.E. efficiency program.
  • Manage relationships with all project partners and the client to bring forward innovative solutions that achieve compliance within the project budget.

Our ideal candidate has:
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of related Project Management experience within the construction industry and familiarity with a variety of construction field concepts, practices and procedures
  • Strong understanding of technology and systems integration
  • Experience procuring and quoting AV equipment
  • AV Knowledge (able to read CAD drawings)
  • Experience with Crestron, Qsys and Biamp
  • Audio, video conferencing or control equipment manufacturer certifications would be considered assets.
  • CTS certification would be considered assets.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience utilizing scheduling software preferred (i.e. Microsoft Project and/or Primavera)
  • You hold or are working towards a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent considered an asset
