Job summary

Plan Group Inc. is seeking an Electrical Construction Project Manager to lead on-site delivery of major electrical projects. You will be accountable for critical work packages, supervise subcontractor teams, and ensure projects meet time and budget targets through proactive planning and collaboration.

You will drive safety, quality, and effective communication with clients, engineers, and contractors, fostering a collaborative team environment across site operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience.
  • Minimum 5 years as a Project Manager.
  • Minimum 3 years on major projects.
  • Experience leading single-site electrical commercial or institutional projects.
  • Strong communication and leadership with safety focus.

Responsibilities

  • Direct on-site control and accountability for critical and complex work packages.
  • Lead subcontractor construction teams for assigned scopes.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Monitor progress, forecast, cost control, and schedule performance.
  • Identify risks or delays and present solutions.
  • Lead quality assurance, commissioning, and handover activities.
  • Support value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee pre-job planning, estimate turnover, and subcontractor selection.
  • Coordinate documents, change management, and materials.

We are seeking an Electrical Construction Project Manager who brings a hands on approach, strong leadership, and a commitment to collaboration. You will take ownership of critical and complex work packages, support field operations, and help ensure our projects meet the high standards our clients expect.

As a Electrical Construction Project Manager, You Will
  • Work full time on site with direct control, accountability, and responsibility for critical and complex work packages.
  • Lead the hands on management of subcontractor construction teams for assigned scopes of work.
  • Deliver electrical construction projects on time and within budget.
  • Monitor progress, forecasting, cost control, and schedule performance in line with the TIME program.
  • Identify risks or delays and present solutions to maintain project performance.
  • Lead quality assurance, commissioning, and project handover activities.
  • Support value engineering and cost saving opportunities.
  • Lead pre job planning including estimate turnover, kickoff meetings, and subcontractor selection.
  • Oversee short interval planning and critical path activities.
  • Follow up on labour progress and remove obstacles to maintain productivity.
  • Ensure accurate document control, change management, and coordination of materials and equipment.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, general contractors, engineers, and consultants.
  • Contribute to an open and collaborative team environment.
Our Ideal Candidate Has
  • Minimum 10 years of overall construction experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience on major projects.
  • Experience performing the proposed role on one or more single-site projects.
  • Experience managing large-scale electrical commercial or institutional projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in a very open, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a commitment to safety and quality.
Assets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.
  • Sound understanding of CISD security protocols.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of electrical, security systems, and fire alarm codes.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, security systems, lighting, lighting control, and fire alarm construction.
  • Basic understanding of LEED and Green Globes principles.
  • Sound understanding of recycling and waste-management protocols.
  • Advanced scheduling skills for major projects.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and scheduling best practices.
  • Previous experience with the Last Planner System.
