Job summary

Bast Tirecraft in Waterloo, ON is seeking an Automotive Service Technician Apprentice who will work toward completing their apprenticeship while gaining hands-on experience in a full-service shop.

The role involves partnering with licensed technicians, performing maintenance, diagnosing issues and learning to service and repair automotive systems. This entry position offers wage progression with experience and opportunities for ministry certification and future ownership potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum completion of 2nd year 310S apprenticeship.
• Previous experience in automotive repairs and service.
• Previous experience with tires (installation and repairs).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer service specific requirements.
• Work closely with licensed Automotive Service Technician for guidance and mentorship.
• Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using diagnostic devices.
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes and tune-ups.
• Inspect engines, transmissions, brakes and related components to locate faults.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions with the technician to determine repairs.
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools.
• Work independently on tasks as required.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Automotive Service Technician Apprentice position while actively working towards completing their apprenticeship program. This is an hourly position with wages ranging from $21.00-$26.00, based on experience.

• Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with licensed Automotive Service Technician to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools.
• Consistently able to work independently.

Qualifications:
