Job summary

Haugh Tirecraft in Exeter, ON is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to diagnose engine troubles, tune performance, and perform maintenance with computerized diagnostic tools. You will work with service advisors to gather requirements and communicate findings to customers.

This hourly role offers a competitive wage ($28.00–$38.00 per hour, based on experience), benefits, and opportunities for ministry certifications and future ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.

Qualifications

• 310s Certification.
• Advanced Passenger Light Truck maintenance and repair.
• Diagnostic abilities to identify faults.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Strong communication skills with customers and teammates.
• Independent problem-solving while working in a team.

Responsibilities

• Interact with service advisors to obtain work orders and requirements.
• Inspect engine, test systems with computerized diagnostics.
• Repair or replace parts and adjust systems per specs.
• Evaluate repaired systems against manufacturer specs.
• Perform scheduled maintenance (oil changes, tune-ups).
• Communicate clearly with customers about work and future repairs.
• Inspect mechanical units to locate faults, decide on repair.
• Repair or replace components using hand/power tools.
• Complete inspection reports detailing problems and work.
• Ability to work independently and reliably.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer service specific requirements
• Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose
• Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
• Evaluate and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specification
• Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups
• Effectively communicate with customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements
• Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
• Complete detailed inspection reports to record problems and work performed
• Consistently able to work independently

• 310s Certification
• Able to perform Advanced Passenger Light Truck maintenance and repair
• Confident in diagnostic abilities?
