Job summary

Tirecraft in Ottawa, ON is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain vehicles. Must have 310s Certification, valid driver’s license, and strong diagnostic and communication skills.

You will test and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems, while delivering excellent customer service. The role is hourly with wages ranging from $28.00-$38.00 based on experience, with benefits and opportunities for growth in a Canadian-owned Tire and automotive

Qualifications

  • 310s Certification required.
  • Advanced Passenger Light Truck maintenance and repair.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
  • Strong communication skills and independent problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer requirements.
  • Inspect motor in operation, road test, and diagnose using testing devices.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
  • Evaluate and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes and tune-ups.
  • Communicate with customers on work performed and future repairs.
  • Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose faults and decide whether to repair or replace units.
  • Repair or replace mechanical units using hand and power tools.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports of problems and work performed.
  • Consistently able to work independently.

  • Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
  • Evaluate and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specification.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups.
  • Effectively communicate with customers on work performed, general vehicle condition and future repair requirements.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit.
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Consistently able to work independently
Qualifications

  • Able to perform Advanced Passenger Light Truck maintenance and repair
