Job summary

Canusa Automotive Warehousing Inc. (Canusa) | Auto Parts Centres (APC) in Hamilton, ON is seeking a full-time Counterperson/Shipper/Receiver.

You will handle counter sales, shipping/receiving, inventory control and customer inquiries, using automotive knowledge and catalogues to deliver accurate parts and friendly service. We require aftermarket parts knowledge, 2+ years of customer service, a G license with a clean abstract, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

  • Aftermarket automotive parts knowledge/experience required.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience required.
  • G Driver’s License and clean 3-year abstract required.
  • Picking, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and stock maintenance experience is an asset.
  • Basic math skills and ability to sort alphanumerically.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. Outlook, online database and web-based training).

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality customer service and assist with customer inquiries both in-person and over the phone using their own automotive knowledge, the company systems and parts catalogues.
  • Answer inbound calls and ensure all calls are answered in a professional manner.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to customers as necessary.
  • Support all store warehouse duties (picking orders, receiving, inventory control, shipping, stocking and organizing).
  • Coordinate the drivers for effective dispatching of vehicles.
  • Efficiently and safely load auto parts onto delivery vehicles.
  • Efficiently deliver parts, being mindful of customer requests.
  • Help control inventory and ensure product availability.
  • Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with the main warehouse to resolve stock-related concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store by keeping racking, shelves, pallet areas, workstations and shared spaces neat.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned by the management team.

Hours:

  • 40-44 hours per week
  • Alternating Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. required
  • Hours may vary depending on business needs

Position Summary

As the Counterperson/Shipper/Receiver, the individual will be performing Counter duties and Shipping/Receiving duties depending on the daily business needs. They will be required to provide quality customer service and assist with customer inquiries both in-person and over the phone using their own automotive knowledge, the company systems and parts catalogues. They will also be required to efficiently check, pick, pack, receive, ship, stock and organize automotive parts. They will help maintain the inventory and cleanliness of the store. They will be required to dispatch drivers and reliably deliver parts to our valued customers. The successful candidate will also assist with completing any necessary paperwork in an accurate manner. Effective use of resources, such as the company database and parts catalogue, will be required.
