Job summary

Jobtailor in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking an experienced Claims Manager to lead a multi-line auto claims team and drive performance. You will oversee day-to-day operations, report on financial performance, and shape strategic plans to enhance customer satisfaction.

The role requires leadership, coaching, and strong communication, with expertise in Auto Appraisal and Service Centre models. You will mentor staff, manage vendors, and ensure effective loss containment and settlement strategies.

Qualifications

• University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
• At least two years of experience in a management role
• Technical knowledge in Auto Appraisal and experience with Service Centre models is an asset
• Demonstrated expertise in leading Claims teams
• Auto Physical Damage line of business exposure is an asset
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in coaching and developing team members
• Strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record of driving performance within multiple lines of business
• Ability to adapt and collaborate across lines of business while handling shifting priorities and taking ownership of tasks
• Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
• Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
• Must maintain work eligibility in Canada

Responsibilities

• Drive performance and efficiency by proactively managing workflows and resources
• Oversee monthly reporting of financial performance and productivity
• Lead staff through coaching, mentoring, and career development
• Advise on claim matters, policy interpretation, and settlement negotiation
• Maintain relationships with vendors and internal client groups
• Oversee the Technical Training Team responsible for IFR, CFR, and team training
