Job summary

Wascana in Prince Albert is seeking a Child and Caregiver Support Assistant Supervisor to join our team on a permanent basis. This role provides protective, preventative, and support services to children and families using the PRIDE model and Family Centered Case Management.

As Assistant Supervisor, you will coach staff, lead in the absence of the supervisor, collaborate with partner agencies, and ensure alignment with Ministry policies.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and coaching staff in social services.
• Knowledge of child and family services acts and procedures.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and teamwork skills.

• Provide leadership and support in the absence of the supervisor for placements of children and caregivers.
• Assist service delivery between Child and Family programs, work units, and partner agencies.
• Be knowledgeable about Ministry policies and procedures per the Child and Family Services Act and PRIDE.
• Liaise with First Nations CFS and community agencies on service delivery and decisions.
• Represent the unit, Ministry, or region on community or internal committees.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for dynamic individuals to join our team as Child and Caregiver Support Assistant Supervisor to fill a Perm position in the Prince Albert office.

In this position, you will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative, and support services to children and their families using the P.R.I.D.E. model and the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.

Assistant Supervisors within Child & Family Programs:

• Coach, mentor, and train staff as the expert and role model on your team;
• Demonstrate leadership exemplified by respect and empowerment, in order to encourage employees to achieve success;
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff in the absence of the supervisor, concerning placements of children and supporting caregivers with children in care;
• Assist with service delivery between Child and Family division programs, work units, and partner agencies;
• Be knowledgeable about Ministry policies and procedures, as outlined in the Child and Family Services Act, Family/Children’s Services, and PRIDE Manuals;
• Act as a liaison with First Nations CFS and community agencies, with service delivery and decisions; and,
• You may represent your unit, Ministry, or region on community or internal committees.
