Job summary

Dollarama in Amherst, Nova Scotia seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail operations and achieving sales goals. This role includes staff supervision, merchandising, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

You will act as Manager on Duty in the Store Manager’s absence and contribute to hiring, training, and performance evaluations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of retail experience.
• At least two years in a supervisory or management role.
• Open availability (day, evening, weekend).
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with operations and staff management.
• Merchandising, stocking, and unpacking daily shipments.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve escalated issues.
• Train, coach, and develop employees.
• Perform cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed.
• Assign tasks to the team and maintain store safety and cleanliness.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
• Ensure adherence to policies and safety standards.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards.
