Job summary

SSP Canada is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager for a high-volume airport setting at Toronto Pearson (YYZ). The role focuses on leading both front-of-house and kitchen activities, driving food quality, cost control, and guest service standards while aligning with brand specifications in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage day-to-day operations, supervise a diverse team, and coordinate forecasting and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in restaurant/food service in a management/supervisory capacity.
• Full-service restaurant management experience required.
• Culinary background is desirable.
• Proficient with MS Office and POS systems.
• Ability to interact with executives, union reps, and diverse hourly team members.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; associate degree or equivalent coursework preferred.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years in restaurant/food service in a management/supervisory capacity.

• Proficient level of computer literacy, including MS Office and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
• Effective organizational maturity to prioritize daily, weekly, monthly and yearly activities.
• Ability to interact at all levels, including with executives, union representatives, and diverse hourly team members.
• Proven track record of resolving uncomfortable situations with clients, customers, peers and direct reports.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, associate’s degree or equivalent coursework preferred.
