Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managerial roles.
  • Experience in a high-volume, customer-facing environment.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, budgeting, inventory, and operational reporting.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; POS systems a plus.

SUMMARY: The Assistant Operations Manager supports the daily operations of the gaming centre, ensuring exceptional customer service, compliance with regulatory standards, and efficient team performance. This role requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, and a commitment to Delta Bingo & Gaming’s Core Values: Community, Innovation, and Leadership.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but are not limited to)
  • Champion and model Delta Bingo & Gaming’s Core Values in all areas of operation.
  • Act as a key liaison with the OLG and AGCO, providing timely, accurate, and professional responses to inquiries or requests.
  • Monitor all areas of the facility, including gaming operations, equipment functionality, parking lot conditions, and overall cleanliness.
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly and follow up with the Bingo Support Line as needed.
  • Supervise, motivate, and support team members throughout their shifts.
  • Manage daily staffing needs, ensuring attendance, punctuality, and shift coverage.
  • Provide coaching and recognition; participate in corrective action and performance management processes when appropriate.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures including balancing cash, preparing deposits, and managing departmental floats.
  • Verify financial reports and reconcile balances following each bingo session.
  • Coordinate and oversee monthly BOT inventory counts.
  • Input and prepare financial and operational reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the planning and execution of marketing and promotional events.
  • Perform a variety of administrative and office tasks such as photocopying, ordering supplies, and managing inventories.
  • Respond to customer inquiries related to gaming, food & beverage, promotions, and services.
  • Ensure all staff comply with Delta Bingo & Gaming's dress code and conduct expectations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
  • Maintain flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managerial roles.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume, customer-facing environment.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, budgeting, inventory, and operational reporting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with scheduling and POS systems is an asset.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of workplace health & safety, security, and service standards.
Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings & weekends.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid AGCO Gaming Assistant License.
