Hard Rock Ottawa Hotel & Casino in Ottawa, Ontario seeks an Assistant Manager, Casino Beverage to oversee beverage services in a regulated casino setting. You will train staff, manage inventory, and uphold guest satisfaction while ensuring compliance with liquor regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of restaurant service experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Restaurant/Beverage Management, Business Administration, or a related field plus 3 years of restaurant service experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino their choice for gaming entertainment; mentors staff to provide superior guest service.
  • Hires, motivates, evaluates and supervises front-of-the-house staff to ensure guidance and resources for objectives.
  • Provides training for all assigned outlet personnel to ensure guest service standards are met.
  • Establishes department standards, guidelines and objectives and maintains budgets and staffing for efficient operation.
  • Monitors guest satisfaction, volume, costs, and promotions to implement changes for improved service.
  • Analyses food cost and forecasts trends with the Director - F&B to adjust menu pricing and specials.
  • Monitors service quality by observation, surveys, and coordination with team for improvements.
  • Maintains inventory levels of restaurant supplies and conducts inspections for procedures and safety.

License Requirements: Smart Serve Certificate, AGCO License ( Alcohol Gaming Commission Ontario)

The Assistant Manager, Casino Beverage is responsible for supporting the overall operation of beverage services within a casino environment. This role ensures exceptional guest experiences, efficient service delivery, compliance with liquor regulations, and effective management of beverage staff and inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Hires, motivates, evaluates and supervises front-of-the-house staff in order to ensure team members receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives.
  • Responsible for morale of staff through quality of supervision and training and provides training for all assigned outlet personnel to ensure guest service standards are met.
  • Establishes department standards, guidelines and objectives and maintains other administrative processes, such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of the outlets.
  • Develops and maintains an intricate knowledge of restaurant performance by monitoring guest satisfaction, volume, cost, marketing promotions and competitors’ programs in order to implement necessary and innovative changes to ensure Hard Rock continues to offer superior product and service.
  • Works with the Director - F&B to analyze food cost and forecast business trends in order to make recommendations for revision of menu prices and food specials that will most appropriately meet company needs.
  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of Food & Beverage service by observing operations, surveying guests and coordinating with team members in order to develop strategies for proper planning and ongoing improvement of guest services and financial return.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining accurate inventory levels of all restaurant supplies.
  • Conducts inspections of front-of-the-house areas to ensure compliance with procedures, security of company assets, and guest and employee safety.
  • Investigates and resolves guest complaints in order to maintain positive guest relations.
  • Works in coordination with culinary department to provide and maintain optimum dining experience.
  • Coordinates with Marketing and Player Development to properly prepare for increased guest volume due to group functions and special events.
  • Assists with operations in all Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and adheres to standards and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of restaurant service experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role; OR Bachelor's degree in Restaurant/Beverage Management, Business Administration, or a related field plus 3 years of restaurant service experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Strong background in restaurant and beverage operations. Proven leadership and team supervision experience. Ability to manage staff, support operational goals, and deliver excellent customer service. Combination of education and practical experience that demonstrates readiness for a management-level role.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a highly regulated and controlled environment, but there will be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor to complete job functions as outlined or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time. Ability to frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environmental characteristics described here may be representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Casino environment is hectic, fast-paced and often crowded and noisy. Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting, but there may be times when you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, excessive noise.
