Job summary

Subway in Canada is seeking an Assistant Manager to focus on seven core areas: guest experience, food quality, cleanliness, inventory control, staff scheduling, safety, and teamwork. You will support day-to-day operations alongside a Shift Manager and supervise a team of 4–12 colleagues.

Position may be Full Time or Part Time with Day/Evening/Weekend shifts that vary by location. Prerequisites include a high school diploma and restaurant experience, preferably with supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a restaurant operation, preferably with supervisory experience.
• Excellent communicator with ability to deal with all levels of team members.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with all levels of team members.
• Operate computerized POS system/cash register; lift up to 30 pounds.
• Assist in training and planning events; supervise 4–12 staff on shift.
• Maintain cleanliness, food quality, safety, and inventory as needed.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as an Assistant Manager will focus on seven main things:

In addition to the role of a Shift Manager, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Managing a staff of 4-12 including assigning and evaluating work
• Assisting in the planning of special events and promotions in restaurant, coordinating any training needed to make events successful
• Assisting with product ordering and inventory as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Experience in a restaurant operation, preferably with supervisory experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to deal with all levels of team members. Computer knowledge is desirable.

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
